Local Police Department Contact Info & Hours
A general information page that will at minimum get you the phone number of your local police department. The hours and information posted is to the best of my knowledge, the departments are subject to change their current hours and policies. We recommend you call prior to making a trip for Firearms Licensing purposes.
Some Departments are not as Firearm Friendly as others. Some are only available a few hours a week. Others only one day a week.....and others will only grant permits for target,sporting, or hunting. MGL Chap 140 sec 131 states "A. Class A license shall entitle a holder thereof to purchase, rent, lease, borrow, possess and carry: (i) firearms, including large capacity firearms, and feeding devices and ammunition therefor, for all lawful purposes, subject to such restrictions relative to the possession, use or carrying of firearms as the licensing authority deems proper" I suppose this means a licensing authority (Chief of police) is within his/her rights to stomp on your rights without cause, other than, I SAID SO. This is why we must contact our reps to encourage the mass gun law reform that is being sponsored by GOAL.
